About the Brothers
Jeff Nigro
Jeff Nigro is an art historian, lecturer and educator. Jeff has had a professional relationship with the Art Institute of Chicago for 25 years, first as a staff lecturer, then as Director of Adult Programs in the Department of Museum Education. He has acted as Study Leader on Art Institute sponsored trips to Italy, Greece, and Germany, and he has received the Art Institute Chairman’s Award for outstanding service. Jeff currently serves as President of the Classical Art Society of the Art Institute, as well as a Research Associate in the Department of Ancient and Byzantine Art. He teaches Adult Education Seminars at the Newberry Library, is an Instructor at the Center for Life and Learning in Chicago, and a frequent speaker for the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA). Jeff has been a JASNA Traveling Lecturer, and he currently serves as Regional Coordinator for the Greater Chicago Region of JASNA.
John Nygro
John Nygro is a lecturer, musician and actor with a career spanning over thirty years. As a lecturer, he has spoken on a number of subjects from classical theater and opera to medieval and Renaissance music to film and television. John’s talks have been heard at Northwestern University, University of Maryland at Baltimore, Newberry Library, Lyric Opera of Chicago Chapters, Jane Austen Society of North America and Center for Life and Learning, where he is a regular instructor. His lectures have been heard on classical radio stations as well as National Public Radio. John Nygro served as the founder and director of The Harwood Early Music Ensemble where he conducted over 175 concerts and lecture demonstrations in live performances, radio broadcasts and compact discs. He has acted in classical dramas and comedies and many corporate instructional videos, commercials and print ads.
